In 1978, Tissot created a quartz model with a slim case, narrow indices and a steel bracelet. Its wide horizontal lug, typical of the time, was perfectly integrated into the flat, tonneau-shaped case. A few years later, Tissot trademarked the name PRX. "PR" stands for "precise" and "robust". The "X" stands for the Roman numeral ten and the pressure of 10 bar, which corresponds to a depth of 100 metres, to which the watch is waterproof. In 2021, Tissot is launching the new PRX as a modern interpretation of its predecessor. The 316L stainless steel case of the Tissot PRX has a diameter of 40 mm. It has a slightly tonneau shape with a narrow, round bezel. On the sides, vertically brushed, rounded finishes alternate with polished facets. The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Steel & 18K Gold features an 18K rose gold bezel, which, together with the indexes and hands of the same color, create a pleasant contrast with the blue dial. The hands of the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Steel & 18K Gold feature a SuperLumiNova® coating and are positioned one above the other with a very small gap. This brings the dial closer to the watch glass. The optical effect achieved by Tissot designers makes the watch case appear even flatter and thinner than it actually is. The Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Steel & 18K Gold has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides and a mineral glass case back. Its Swiss Made automatic movement with a power reserve of up to 80 hours is equipped with a Nivachron hairspring, known for its excellent magnetic field safety. The watch has a 316L stainless steel bracelet.
